This is the 10th Anniversary of the Aussie Millions, held at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia, and to help celebrate the event, there was a special Tournament of Champions held for all the previous winners of the Aussie Millions Main Event:

  • 2003 – Peter Costa
  • 2004 – Tony Bloom
  • 2005 – Jamil Dia
  • 2006 – Lee Nelson
  • 2007 – Gus Hansen
  • 2008 – Alexander Kostritsyn (unable to attend)
  • 2009 – Stewart Scott
  • 2010 – Tyron Krost
  • 2011 – David Gorr

Eight of the former champions were able to make the event, but the 2008 winner, Alexander Kostritsyn, was not able to make the trip this year as his wife is expected to give birth to their first child at any moment.

After missing 40 minutes of play from being at the final table of the $1,000 NLHE w/rebuys event (where he finished fourth), Tyron Krost then went on to win this prestigious event, securing himself a special prize called the Golden Ticket. This will allow a lifetime of buy-ins for the Aussie Millions $10,000 Main Event and, considering Krost was the youngest player at 25 years, he is sure to get a lot of value!

Here’s the final results of the Tournament of Champions:

  1. Tyron Krost - winner of the Golden Ticket
  2. Tony Bloom
  3. Lee Nelson
  4. Gus Hansen
  5. Peter Costa
  6. David Gorr
  7. Jamil Dia
  8. Stewart Scott
