Pokerstars announced a new feature that is already showing the signs of large-scale popularity.

It’s called Online Home Games and is very different feature from just setting up a private tournament.  Now, you have access to a customizable and private Club Lobby that only you and whoever you invite have access too.  From the lobby you can a see a schedule of upcoming tournaments and ring games that only you and your friends have access too!  You’ll also be able to keep track of all the results, including the list of players, their results, earned points, prize winnings and knockouts.  That’s just a sample of all the new features and statistics to play with.

You’ll be able to have full control over who can play your games. If you feel someone’s getting out of hand with abusive language, you can prevent them from playing any future games in your series.

Normally sites frown against players using the same IP and can even place restrictions on players in the same tournaments using the same IP.  With Online Home Games, that no longer applies; that means if you and a bunch of friends each have a computer you can now setup a LAN party and play together using Online Home Games – even in the same house. (The needling is more effective when it’s verbally expressed.)
