The 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event has come to an end, with the young Danish player Peter Eastgate cashing in the first prize of over $9 million. Since it s now over, we want to know your opinion on this hyped event.
Your opinion on the WSOP
The most hyped WSOP Final Table ever is finally over and 22-year old Danish player Peter Eastgate defeated Russia's Ivan Demidov, winning $9,152,416 (the second largest prize in the history of poker tournaments). With this achievement, he's also became the youngest player to ever win Main Event winner, knocking Phill Hellmuth Jr's record of 24 years of age that he got in 1989.
Since the WSOP decided to pause the Main Event for 117 days, so there would be enough time to hype the event, which was evident on all the major poker sites. Now we are asking whether you enjoyed the final table action: was it what you expected, were you disappointed with the players or do you simply not care enough to follow the event? Last week we asked you if you think Barack Obama will have an impact on online poker. Many of you showed interest in this topic, and almost half of the votes pointed out to a positive impact. 45% of the remaining voters said that Obama will not have an impact on online poker whatsoever, while 8% considered his impact to be negative.
